While prepping for Wednesday’s workshop I came across this in-depth explanation of the new SFMOMA logo and brand identity. I think the design is very successful, but even more interesting/relevant is the article explaining the process and inspiration—a really cool example of research and development in a professional context! The video at the beginning also has an animated section that reminds me of our gif-making the other week.

Here are some snaps from the letterpress workshop some of us did on Wednesday. It is very slow work, but very satisfying. We mostly used large wooden type, as this was suggested as an easier way into the process. Definitely worth a visit!
