Last week, final year BA Fashion Contour student Yuman He won first prize at the Link Award in Cannes. That’s the third win in a row for LCF at these awards!

Yuman He won first prize in the intimates category at The Link Award

This week, we have heard from Celine Wenninger who is currently on her placement year. She was asked to join a photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar, which took place in a hotel in Paris with French celebrity Caroline Receveur (from Dancing With the Stars 7) and there has been press interest already. Celine has already had lots of requests for her pieces which she plans to offer via The Lingerie Lab who made this shoot possible. The  images will be featured in the February 2017 issue.

Mare d’Amare: The Link Fashion Show in Florence

July 30, 2016 in uncategorised

As part of The Link Award 2015, Florence and I had the chance to present another collection on the catwalk in Florence, Italy, as part of the tradeshow Mare d’Amare ( The event was set in the heart of Florence in the castle “Fortezza da Basso”.

Florence, winner of last year’s category swimwear, presented her new swimwear range “SIREN: VENUS”. It is inspired by the reimagination of Bottocellis classic painting ‘The Birth of Venus’. The collection aims to explore what is ‘the divine feminine’ whilst considering new ways of concealing and exposing the female form. Ultimately, the garment becomes an extension of the wearer’s inner qualities as well as excentuating her physical female form. SIREN utilises top quality swimwear fabrics, aiming to express the multi-faceted elements of women: limitless strength, beauty and wisdom; expressing this through a combination of both athletic and ornate materials.

For my part, I have created an opulent lingerie range “COLLECTION REDÉCOUVERTE” combining Italian heritage and French savoir-faire. The collection is about deconstructing, reconstructing and reviving femininity. Its initial design concept is rooted in historic French corsetry and evolves into a collection of contemporary structured intimate apparel marked by opulent elegance. Every piece features a handmade embroidery design inspired by the intricate Beaux-Arts architecture of the entrance gate to the Petit Palais in Paris creating the allusion of deconstructing and revealing what’s hidden underneath whilst giving it an Haute Couture touch.

The show has been an absolute highlight for both of us and it has been an amazing opportunity to professionally showcase our work to other creatives and all industry professionals present at the event. We want to thank the organizers Franco Taiana and Raffaela de Rosa for giving us this incredible chance and also the entire team that helped to create this flawless catwalk show.

Grazie Mille!

It has been inspired by the side gates of the Petit Palais in Paris and combines Parisian Chic with a version of pretty bondage – blurring the boundaries between intimate apparel and outerwear.

The Link Awards 2015

November 21, 2015 in uncategorised

As a finalist of the Link Award sponsored by the Italian fabric company Maredimoda, Florence and I have been invited to show our collections in Cannes recently!

To enter the competition we were asked to design either a swimwear or lingerie collection and hand in one sample look in advance.

As we both managed to get to the final round, we then went to Como, Italy, for a creativity week where we visited a lot of textile manufacturers and producers and were able to network with other European textile designers and industry professionals – including the other 6 finalists for the competition!

And finally – we went to Cannes to present our final collections on the catwalk in the Palais des Festivals!
It has been a great networking event represented by a numerous amount of textile companies and industry professionals such as WGSN presenting the next SS17 trend forecast together with David Shah and many more.

Enjoy the full catwalk show featuring all 8 designers here on youtube >>

Our advice: Definitely have a go and take part for the next year’s edition – good luck!
